How to make a video ad from a website
FlowAd turns a business website into a finished vertical ad in five stages. This page walks through each one: what it reads, what you are asked, what you get to check, and what you get back.
Before you start
What you need to bring
Less than most people expect. The website does the heavy lifting.
A website
Any public site that says what you do. Your own pages are the source, so the ad uses your real offers, places and contact details.
One goal
Pick the action you want from a viewer. The ad is built around that single action, which keeps it short and clear.
A few minutes
Most of the time goes on reading what FlowAd found and deciding that it is right. The build itself is automatic.
The steps
From address to finished ad
Five stages, in order.
- 01
It reads your website
You paste the address of your site. That is the only thing required to begin. FlowAd fetches your home page and the pages it links to, and collects what a customer would learn by browsing: what you sell, where you operate, who you serve, how to reach you, and any figures you publish, such as a rating or a price.
It also looks for your logo in the header, the navigation and the footer. It does not treat a social sharing banner as a logo, because those are usually photographs of something else. What it finds appears on screen for you to look over. If the site cannot be read, or you would rather not use it, you can skip this step and enter the details by hand.
- 02
You choose the goal and the template
Next you say what the ad is about. For a business with one focus that means the brand. For one with several offerings you can pick a single one, and the ad will then talk only about it. You also choose the goal: phone calls, bookings, WhatsApp messages, leads, product sales, website visits, store visits, an offer, trust or awareness.
The goal decides the structure of the ad and its closing line. Then you pick a template built for that goal and choose the language of the voiceover, English or Hindi. There is a free text box for anything else, such as the tone you want, an angle to take, an offer to feature or something to avoid.
- 03
You review what it will say
Before a frame is drawn, FlowAd lists what it read and what the ad will claim: your business name, who the ad is for, the problem it solves and what sets you apart. Each is an editable field. If the template has room for figures, such as a rating or a count, they are listed too.
This step exists to stop invented claims. A figure that the ad presents as a fact has to trace back to your site. When FlowAd finds none, the template shows a sample value and the review step marks it as unsourced, so you can replace it with a real number or keep the sample knowing that it is one. Nothing is blocked. The decision is yours.
- 04
It builds and voices the ad
FlowAd writes the script in the template’s structure, generates the narration for each scene and cuts the picture to the length of the voice. Music sits underneath at a fixed level. The colours come from the template, which ships several palettes, and one is chosen for your business so that ads from different advertisers look different.
The result is a vertical video of 20 to 30 seconds, made for Reels, Shorts and WhatsApp status. One voice speaks the whole ad. If the chosen voice service fails partway through, the work is discarded and the whole ad is redone with the next available one, so you never get two different voices in one video.
- 05
You download it, or keep editing
The finished ad opens in the editor. Every element is still a separate layer, so a headline, a price, a colour or a scene’s timing can be changed directly. You can re-voice a line after editing it, add your own images or swap the music, then render again.
When you are happy with it you download the file and post it. The ad is saved to your account, so the next offer can start from this one.
Voice and language
A voiceover in English or Hindi
Narration is generated for each scene from the script. The narration sets how long the ad runs, and the picture is timed to it. You pick the voice from the ones available and can listen before you commit.
For Hindi ads you choose how the words appear on screen. Roman letters read easily on a phone. Devanagari looks native and is set as real text, so consonants keep their vowel signs and conjuncts stay joined, and it is never animated one code point at a time.
- English and Hindi voiceover
- Hindi on screen in Roman letters or Devanagari
- Music under the voice, at a level that keeps speech clear
- One voice for the whole ad
Chosen, then previewed
Listen to a voice before it narrates your ad.
Text set properly
Devanagari keeps its conjuncts and vowel signs.
Scored
A music bed sits below the voice.
Timed to speech
Scenes are cut to the length of each line.
Accuracy
Why FlowAd will not make up numbers
An ad that states a statistic the business cannot back up is a legal problem for the advertiser, and a quick way to lose a customer’s trust. So FlowAd separates two kinds of numbers.
A claim is a figure the ad presents as true: a rating, a count of customers, a percentage saved. Each claim has to trace to something FlowAd read on your site. An illustration is a figure that only makes a mock-up look real, such as the numbers in a dashboard graphic. Illustrations are labelled as sample values and are not treated as claims.
When a template has a claim slot and your site gave nothing to fill it, the template’s sample value shows on the screen you review, marked as unsourced. You can type in a real figure, replace the element or leave the sample in place. FlowAd tells you and lets you decide.
After the render
Editing and reusing
The first render is a starting point. The editor keeps every headline, shape, icon and image as its own layer on a timeline, so you can retime a scene, change a colour, swap a photograph or add a component from the library. Undo history is kept, so experimenting is safe.
Because the ad is saved as a document and not as a flat video, the next one is quick. Duplicate it, change the offer and the date, and render again. The template library is there when you want a different structure, and the pricing page explains how credits would be spent.
FAQ
Questions about the process
What if my website is thin or out of date?
FlowAd shows you what it found before it writes anything, and you can fill in or correct any field. You can also skip the reading step and type the details yourself. A weak site gives it less to work with, so the review step matters more.
Can I make an ad about one product instead of the whole business?
Yes. When the site lists several offerings, you can pick one to focus on. A focused ad talks only about that offering and does not list your other services.
Does the voiceover always match the picture?
The narration sets the length of the ad. Scenes are cut to fit the spoken lines, so the picture never runs ahead of the voice.
What happens if the voice service is unavailable?
FlowAd will not hand you a silent ad and call it finished. If no voice can be generated, the render stops and tells you so, and you can try again. Templates that are silent by design are the exception, and they say so.
Can I edit the ad after it renders?
Yes. The ad opens in the editor with every element intact. You can change text, swap colours, adjust timing, add layers and re-voice a line, then render again.
Which formats can I export?
Ads are made for vertical 9:16, the shape of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and WhatsApp status. The editor also lets you work in 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9.
